Numbers stations are mysterious shortwave radio channels of indiscernible origin that exist in countries all across the world and have been reported since World War 1. They are identifiable by the unusual contents of their broadcasts: seemingly random sequences of numbers, words, letters, tunes, and Morse code, usually spoken by artificially generated voices of women and children.
The most common theory regarding the purpose of these bizarre stations is that they’re used by governments the world over to secretly transmit encrypted commands and messages to spies. That said, even though numbers stations have been discovered all over the globe and in any number of different languages, no government has ever officially acknowledged their existence. While the espionage theory is a logical one, with no official confirmation of their purpose the jury is still out.
One particularly odd station, UVB-76, has existed since the late 1970s and has broadcast a simple, repetitive buzzing tone 24 hours a day ever since. On very rare occasions, however, listeners have reported a Russian voice interrupting the buzz to read out sequences of numbers and words, always in a consistent format — this happened once in 1997, once in 2002, once in 2006, 56 times in 2010, and 14 in 2011. As with all numbers stations, its true purpose is and will probably remain unknown, but the increase in frequency of whatever it’s doing is certainly odd.
You can listen to well over 100 recordings of numbers stations for free on archive.org but be forewarned that they’re all kind of, well, eerie. They feel like something you shouldn’t be listening to, which stands to reason since apparently you’re not supposed to know they exist.

boyslut:

Erm people kept asking me about my favourite Pokémon and favourite Generation etc so I just thought I’d make this post cause I’m really indecisive so yeah I just decided to pick my favourite Pokémon, out of all 649 Pokémon, for each type:

Normal - Teddiursa/Ursaring, 2nd Generation, Normal
Fire - Growlithe/Arcanine, 1st Generation, Fire
Water - Totodile/Croconaw/Feraligatr, 2nd Generation, Water
Electric - Jolteon, 1st Generation, Electric
Grass - Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur, 1st Generation, Grass/Poison
Ice - Sneasel/Weavile, 4th Generation, Dark/Ice
Fighting - Riolu/Lucario, 4th Generation, Fighting/Steel
Poison - Budew/Roselia/Roserade, 4th Generation, Grass/Poison
Ground - Trapinch/Vibrava/Flygon, 3rd Generation, Ground/Dragon
Flying - Archen/Archeops, 5th Generation, Flying/Rock
Psychic - Ralts/Kirlia/Gallade, 4th Generation, Psychic/Fighting
Bug - Scyther/Scizor, 2nd Generation, Bug/Steel
Rock - Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar, 2nd Generation, Dark/Rock
Ghost - Litwick/Lampent/Chandelure, 5th Generation, Fire/Ghost
Dragon - Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite, 1st Generation, Dragon/Flying
Dark - Murkrow/Honchkrow, 4th Generation, Dark/Flying
Steel - Onix/Steelix, 2nd Generation, Ground/Steel

I don’t have a favourite type in particular, I like using a variety of pokemon.

If I base my favourite generations on this then they’re in this order:

  1. 2nd Generation/4th Generation (5 favourites each)
  2. 1st Generation (4 fave pokemon)
  3. 5th Generation (2 fave pokemon)
  4. 3rd Generation (1 fave pokemon)

(I dislike 3rd Gen most cause its basically all just water Pokémon and its just shit in general ok.)

If I had to pick my absolute favourite it’s Archen/Archeops because:

  • It’s dual-type therefore it has 2 STAB bonuses, I like the combination of Rock with Flying as well it’s cool
  • It’s pretty
  • It’s a fossil which is cool
  • I like that its ability hinders it because it makes it more exciting
  • It’s attack stat is insane (highest for any flying type that isn’t legendary) and it’s Sp.Atk and Speed are great too
  • It’s overall base stat is 567 (high), it’s the only Pokémon with that base stat plus it’s the only Pokémon where the base stat is equal to their position in the National Pokédex (#567)
  • It’s move pool is great
  • I just love Archen/Archeops ok

We took in a stray cat that had a nasty eye infection, so bad that we had to take his eyes out. Being completely blind, one of our older cats decided to take care and help him around the house. I found them later asleep like this.
